Sigmund Freud's couch is one of the most famous pieces of furniture in the world. It has come to represent the practice of psychoanalysis.

The couch was given to Freud in 1891 by Mrs Benvenisti, a grateful patient. Today, it can be found in the study of Freud's final home, now the Freud Museum London.
